This post is for all sections! This post details what you are required to do in preparation for your conference with me next week.
For your revision, you must choose one of the two essays you worked on during the first few weeks of class. It doesn't matter to me which paper you choose. Choose the one in which you are most invested. From there, you must clearly attempt to include/address the following:
a) Revise the beginning of your essay so that you set up why your essay is necessary - in or around the introductory paragraph.
b) Include at least one moment of close reading of a source (it might be best to choose your primary source if possible)
c) Include a picture or image in your text that illuminates an argument/point you are making. Be sure to "close read" this image as well. Explain its relationship to your text, to your argument. (You must cite this in your works cited)
d) Be sure you've thoroughly unpacked ALL of the quotes or paraphrasing you include in your essay.
ONCE YOU ARE FINISHED WITH YOUR REVISION,
you must come to your conference with your:
ORIGINAL DRAFT IN HAND
REVISED DRAFT IN HAND (REVISED MATERIAL SHOULD BE HIGHLIGHTED OR UNDERLINED IN SOME WAY)
ONE QUESTION ABOUT YOUR ESSAY, OR ABOUT REVISION. MUST BE SPECIFIC TO YOU (NO GENERAL - WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THIS BETTER?)
